Graphic design in Encino, done in house at our shop on Ventura Blvd, exists because plenty of the businesses that come through our door do not have a designer on staff and do not want to hire one for a single business card or flyer. We build the layout from what you already have, a logo, a photo, sometimes just a business name and a phone number, and we set it up correctly for print from the start, meaning the right bleed, the right color mode and the right resolution so the file does not need fixing later by whoever runs the press.

Because we design and print under one roof, we do not hand a customer a file that looks right on screen but prints wrong. A designer working somewhere else does not know how our press handles a dark background or how our cutter tolerates a design with no margin, but we do, and we build every layout with that knowledge folded in from the first draft. That is the difference between design for a screen and design that is actually going to come off a Xerox digital press or our wide format printer looking the way it was intended.

Most design requests we get are for a business card, a flyer, a postcard or a simple logo cleanup, and we quote the design work honestly before starting, separate from the print cost. A straightforward one page piece, business card or flyer, can often be designed and proofed the same day if the file is simple and you are available to review it quickly. More involved work, a multi page booklet or a full brand package, takes longer and we tell you a realistic timeline upfront rather than promising same day on something that genuinely needs more time.

You do not need a finished file to start, and you do not need an account or a card to get a quote. Bring a rough idea, a competitor's flyer you like, or a photo on your phone, and we take it from there, building a PDF proof for you to review before anything prints. We work with businesses across the Valley this way, from a Sherman Oaks salon needing a first logo to a Woodland Hills contractor who just needs their door hanger cleaned up to match a new phone number.

A design job usually starts with a short conversation, either at the counter or over the phone, about what the piece needs to say and where it is going, a business card that sits in a wallet, a flyer that hangs on a corkboard, a banner that reads from across a parking lot. That context changes the design more than most people expect, a banner needs bigger type and fewer words than a flyer does, and we build that into the layout rather than handing back a generic template resized to fit whatever size you ordered.

We keep design and print in the same building on purpose, so there is no back and forth between a separate designer and a separate printer arguing about who is responsible for a color that came out wrong. If a proof does not look the way you expected once it prints as a sample, we adjust it here, on the spot, rather than sending you back to whoever built the original file. Pricing for design work is quoted separately from printing and depends on how much is being built from scratch versus adjusted from an existing file. A logo cleanup or a one page flyer from a rough idea is usually the fastest and least expensive request we get, while a full stationery package, letterhead, envelopes and business cards designed to match, takes more time to get consistent across every piece. Either way, you approve a proof before we print, and there is no minimum job size to work with our design team.

The most common problem we see before a design project starts is a customer who has a logo but nothing else, no color preferences written down, no example of a look they like, which leaves our in house graphic design team guessing at what professional or clean actually means to that particular business. We ask for at least one reference, a competitor's card, a website they like, anything visual, before starting a layout, because two rounds of revisions based on a clear reference beats five rounds guessing blind. The second issue is a logo file that only exists as a low resolution JPEG pulled from a website or social media page.

We can usually rebuild a logo from a rough source well enough to print clean, but it takes longer than starting from a vector file, so we flag that early rather than promise a same day turnaround we cannot hit on a design heavy job. Design work for a new business, a Keller Williams agent building out cards, a yard sign and a listing flyer as one package is a good example, moves fastest when everything is decided in one meeting: colors, fonts, what needs to match across every printed piece, so we are not solving those decisions one document at a time.
